New Jamie Oliver restaurant set to open in Budapest

back

Next spring the Hungarian capital will see the opening of Jamie Oliver's newest restaurant, Jaime's Italian. This means that Hungary will be the third European country where the star chef will establish a presence.

Currently there are around 40 restaurants in England which are run by Jamie Oliver, but his brand is only at the beginning of international expansion. He has already opened restaurants in Moscow, Istanbul and Rotterdam.

His restaurants do not offer the often too expensive fine dining but make food from everyday ingredients and offer them at a reasonable price – which is one of the reasons critics are not fond of his restaurants while the crowds love them.

The restaurant will be introduced in Hungary by the Zsidai Group. The restaurant will be located in the famous Buda Castle, which is a very conscious choice of location: Zoltán Roy Zsidai, the owner of Zsidai Group wants to expand his already existing empire of several restaurants there.

The newest member of the Jaime Oliver franchise will be established in the old Hadik restaurant, which is located in a building that was designed by architect Csaba Virág in 1968. The building is going to be completely renovated but they will preserve its characteristics, as it was originally also intended to house a restaurant.
