Budapest is one of the cheapest Airbnb cities

Airbnb itself recently published detailed statistics about the number of people renting their flats via the site to tourists. Budapest has fewer online rentals than Vienna or Prague, but is one of the cities where accommodation is the cheapest to find.

Rental markets all around the world were turned upside down by Airbnb in 2015, and it is becoming increasingly popular everywhere in the world. Outside the United States Paris offers the highest number of online rentals for tourist: they have almost 46 thousand options to choose from if they want to get accommodation for a few days.

The second place belongs to London with more than 30 thousand rentals, while outside Europe the first place is occupied by Rio de Janeiro with more than 13 thousand rentals and more than 5000 rooms.

But utilization of the rentals in not the highest in the European capitals but in Tokyo with 68.3% – Paris has a utilization rate of only 58%.

The most expensive city to rent a room via Airbnb at is the British capital: it costs 209 dollars on average to rent a room for a night in London, while in Dubai it costs 192 dollars.

In Budapest tourists who don't want to go to a hotel or hostel can choose from 4799 different accommodations – this means 599 single rooms while the rest are whole flats. Utilization in the Hungarian capital stands at 56.6% and the average price for a nights stay is 50 dollars. This means that Budapest is the seventh cheapest city in Europe, at least considering Airbnb prices.
